I help Danny sit down, leaning against the wall. "Okay, sit tight." I go inside.
I'm holding Callie. Cody is in my lap. Emma is trying to braid a strang of my hair, and Gale is at the door. I look up at Shawn with a concerned looked, "What the heck happened out there?"
"Uh...Let's just say...we need a ride..." I pause for a little while, "...To the hospital."
"Shawn! I am surrounded by children! Why can't you drive him?"
I rub the back of my neck, a little ashamed, "I uh...kind of need to get there too." I hold up my injured arm, "I think I broke a few things."
"Oh for God sakes." I stand up, "Alright kids, we're taking a little trip." I go outside, "Shawn, grab a child."
I look around nervously before picking up Gale and holding him with one arm, "Hi. I'm Shawn."

Gale just stared at him, "I'm Gale."
I leaned against the wall for a few minutes before standing up.

I nod at the child. Kids were...apparently not my thing. Funny that Danny was the one that ended up as a dad with a good, solid family. Of course all these children were from different guys. I look at Jennifer. How could I have so much respect for a woman who...I shouldn't think things like that.
"Alright Danny, grab on." I let my arm down, ready to pull him up.

I let her pull me up. I blinked, trying to get rid of the dizziness.
I started asking Shawn a million different questions.

I try to roll with the questions, even though I was battling a lot of bad thoughts and guilt. Mostly because I just beat my best friend to a bloody pulp.
"Gale, simmer down for a hot minute, okay?" I strap Cody and Emma in and then open the door to help Danny into the car.

"okie!" I say, jumping down from Shawn's arms. I climb into my car seat, and struggle with the seatbelt, but I eventually get it.
I get into the car, and instantly close my eyes. So freaking tired.

I give Danny an affectionate little rub on the head, "You gotta try to stay awake, babe. Don't fall asleep, okay?" I run to the other side of the car and get in, making sure shawn is in the back seat with Callie and Gale. I buckle in and start the car. "Oh! Uh..." I realize I'm still holding Callie. I then realize that the car seat is not in the car. I look back at Shawn. "Hold this. Tight." I give him and serious look and slam on the peddle.
I take the baby, very shocked as Jennifer speeds out into traffic.

I opened my eyes. I had enough energy left to glare at Shawn, warning him. I'd kill him, if he doesn't hold Callie tight enough.
I was sitting inbetween Daddy and his friend. I looked between the two them, ackward!

I drive way faster than is allowed, weaving in and out of cars. A small part of me knew this was a bad idea, but for the love of Jesus, my husband was in pain here!!
I look at Danny and then at the 3 children I was sharing a car with. Not to mention the one I was holding...tightly. Emma was drawing a picture of a monster. Apparently her step-father's head behind split in two was not uncommon enough to look up from the page. Gale seemed to know everything in the universe, including all my deepest secrets. That freaked me out. Cody was having a great time because of how fast the car was going. This was...weird.

I looked up at Shawn, and started asking questions again. I only got fifteen questions out of my mouth before dad put his hand over my mouth.
"calm down kiddo." I say, not mad. But my head hurt. He nodded, and tried to curl up into my side, as best he could in his car seat. I smiled.

"We're here. Get out!" I'm out of the car in a second, picking up Cody and grabbing Gale's hand.
I try to hand Callie over.
"Can you just..." I slam the door and run over to help Danny out.
"Okay...guess I'll just....keep this then." I get out of the car.

I open the door for Jen and Danny. Jen was helping Danny walk and holding a baby. I wasn't sure which one. They all looked the same. Emma ran inside, holding another baby. Gale was riding on my back. Not sure how that happened. I try to ignore the dirty look I get from Jennifer as she walks passed me, which was basically just 'don't think this makes up for anything'.
I help Danny through the door, "Okay, do you want the couch or is it straight to bed?"

I thought a moment, "Bed." I say, quite tired, and my head was throbbing, I didn't think I'd be able to rest on the couch with so much noise, especially if Shawn was planning on staying.

I flinch. Bed. They go to bed. They share a bed. They sleep in the same bed. Their married. I feel a shiver go through my body. This wasn't a problem. Danny was a lucky man. Good for him. I look at Jennifer as she helps my best friend into the bedroom. I sigh.

I changed into more comfortable clothes, jeans and my bloodied work shirt weren't going to cut it. After I was done, I got into bed, and pulled the covers up. Almost instantly falling asleep.

I look at Danny and smile before changing into my white tank top and purple pajama pants. I go out into the living room. "Okay kids, it's time for bed. All of you. Shawn, wanna give me a hand?"
"Uh sure, what do I do?"
"Just grab the closest humans and bring them into the next room." I pick up Cody.

I didn't really want to sleep, I wasn't tired. But I got up off the floor, and into my room anyway.

I put every kid in the right bed and turn out the light, "Goodnight guys," I say quietly. I close the door and take a deep breath. What a day. I go back into the living room, knowing Shawn is following close behind.
"Listen, Jen...I'm just...I'm sorry. About the whole thing. Right up to the whole 'having feelings for you' thing."
I roll my eyes, "Don't waste your breath, Shawn." I say, "I don't agree with Danny's choice to pick a fight, but I also don't agree with your choice to tell him the truth."

I knock on the door, more as a warning than anything else. I let myself in, "Jen are ya up?" I called softly, knowing the kids were most likely in bed. Devon was in my arms, sleeping herself.

"Oh let me guess, Danny?" I asked, not surprised. "I'm assuming he's OK, since they let him leave." I state as a sort of question, but not at the same time. "Do ya mind if Devon and I crashed here for the night? The electric in our apartment building burnt out, and it's a little to hot to sleep there." I explained.

"Yeah sure, the more the merrier," I laugh, "I have all the kids here anyway. And I assume you don't want to stay at the OCD palace." I was referring to Alex's apartment, which was impossible to be at because he was such a clean freak.

"kind of." I laugh softly, as I laid Devon down on the couch. She turned to cling to her stuffed animal instead of my neck, now that she was no longer being carried.
